An animation short expressing “NO WAR” through a kind-hearted teddy bear. During the Gulf War and the Iraq War, I had the shocking experience of watching the live images of the war on TV for the first time, as if it were a video game, and that led me to create this short film. Who could have predicted todays’s situation, almost 20 years since the production?

This is a story about a memory, a maze of reminiscences, of someone who seems to be everywhere. Even in a hopeless situation, the child struggles and somehow manages to move forward. Even if that means vanishing. Just moving forward. Such is the story.

This film was produced with narration and titles in 12 languages for the purpose of introducing the beauty and spirit of Japan to foreign countries through a highly sophisticated production of the oldest tale in Japan. The theme is the bereavement, mourning death with regarding Moon as the after-life world.
