Kyoto University of Arts Special Research and Production Grant 2022 – the Result Presentation Project

“Hiroshima International Animation Festival VR Photo Exhibition”

Greetings

October 2022

In celebrating the International Animation Day 2022, I am very pleased to present the "Hiroshima International Animation Festival VR Photo Exhibition".
This VR Photo Exhibition, based on the photo exhibition held at Kyoto University of the Arts' Galerie Aube in November 2021, will be held at “FuuRyuu”, a virtual gallery run by the University's Department of Information Design.
The exhibition is part of a project to archive and pass on to future generations the valuable materials left behind by the Hiroshima International Animation Festival (Hiroshima Festival, 1984 - 2020) and to examine its impact on animation culture in Japan and around the world, and will present the results of a project to digitize the photographs documenting the Hiroshima Festival.
The holding of this exhibition was supported by the Kyoto University of the Arts Special Research and Production Grant Program.
In addition, I would like to thank SUS Co., Ltd., and Cross Reality Co., Ltd., for their cooperation in the development and content implementation of “FuuRyuu”.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved.

It is my sincere hope that the spirit of LOVE & PEACE fostered by the Hiroshima International Animation Festival as well as our friendship with people around the world will continue forever.
