Hiroko MATSUI

A part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of Art and design,
a part-time lecturer at Osaka Electro-Communication University
Born in Osaka. After moving from graphic design, interior design and accessory design, studied 3D CG. Around this time, saw Wallace & Gromit’s “Cheeze Holiday”, and influenced by the work, started to create original characters from clay while at the same time working on CG. Currently investigating methods of linking with society, on the theme of ‘moving’, the essence of animation.
I received an invitation from to ASIFA-JAPANA from the artist I look up to, Nobuhiro Aihara. He has now embarked on a journey far away, and I am continuing my research to do justice to him.
After working as assistant in Kobe Design University’s Visual Design
Department, worked as a part-time lecturer at Kyoto University of Art and design from 2006 – 2012, and part-time lecturer at Osaka Electro-Communication University from 2011, among others.
