→2014.09.24 update International Animation Day (IAD) 2014 – Coming Soon!: On October 28th, 1892, a French inventor Emile Reynaud (1844 – 1918) made the first public performance of animation at the Grevin Museum in Paris, using his own invention "optical theater." Since 2002, ASIFA and its National Groups have been celebrating this historical day as "International Animation Day (IAD)" , intending to promote and develop animation art all over the world simultaneously. Every year, about 40 countries participate in this celebration.
"IAD 2014 in Japan" will be held in two cities – Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka – to show inspiring animation films of Japan and abroad.

→ "IAD 2014 in Kyoto" will be held on October 31st, at 17:00 ~ 19:30, at the Eizo Hall of “Art and Culture Information Center”, Kyoto University of Art and Design.

→ "IAD 2014 in Hiroshima" will be held during October - November, at the Hiroshima City Cinematographic and Audio-Visual Library (Eizo Bunka Library) as well as at eight public facilities in each of the eight wards in Hiroshima.

→ "IAD 2014 in Osaka" will be held on November 6th.

→2014.07.30 update HIROSHIMA 2014, the 15th International Animation Festival in Japan will be held from August 21st to 25th!: HIROSHIMA 2014 is almost around the corner! We will be celebrating its 30th anniversary since the establishment of our festival office in 1984. Looking forward to your participation!

→2014.2.24 update Official poster of HIROSHIMA 2014 are now exhibited at “Ginza Gallery”, Tokyo!: So many as 68 copies of official poster of HIROSHIMA 2014 are now exhibited at “Ginza Gallery”, Tokyo! “Ginza Gallery” is a display gallery at the underground walkway from Yurakucho Marion/Ginza Station to Hibiya Station. Yoji Kuri’s inspiring posters are creating fantastic atmosphere underground Tokyo! Please visit, and enjoy!

→2014.2.22 update Omnibus Feature Animation "WONDER FULL!!" by Mirai MIZUE, now released!: Mirai MIZUE's latest omnibus feature animation "WONDER FULL!!" (79 min.) has been released on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014, at Human Trust Cinema Shibuya as a road show! The film will also tour various cities in Japan, such as Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Fushimi, Sapporo, etc.

"WONDER FULL!!" is composed of fourteen animation shorts by Mirai, including his latest short "WONDER", which was world premiered at Berlin International Film Festival, as well as "MODERN No.2", "FANTASTIC CELL", etc., highly recognized at film festivals around the world.
Mirai's illustration artworks are also exhibited at Human Trust Cinema Shibuya until February 28th.
