(2) TO THY HEART
dir. Ewa Borysewicz
prod. Animaso
2013, 10:00
He was so handsome, with his jet-black hair, standing by the swing.
When he smiled, eyes would stand on end. It was schizophrenic -
he was so messed up that she would do whatever he said. She
wanted to listen to his sweet-talking, wanted him to talk until the
moon was up. Then she stopped pinning her hopes on him. She
couldn’t let him off so easily for his betrayal. Ewa Borysewicz’s
animation is a secular litany and a story of affection ending in bitter
disappointment, echoing through a tower block estate. |

(3) GOVERNANCE OF LOVE
dir. Adela Kaczmarek
prod. Towarzystwo Inicjatyw Twórczych “ę”
2013, 13:00
It is an animated documentary about imagination. The protagonist
lives in several realities at the same time. Real people and events
intertwine with those created by his imagination. He looks for a
place for himself in this world and does it in his own unique way. He
spins a tale while dreaming about the rule of love in Poland. Despite
its naivety, his world ignites thought about the existential notions
of good and evil. The author uses animation to show the inner life
of the mentally ill patient and for the visual value of the film uses
images created spontaneously by the protagonist. |

dir. Marcin Wojciechowski
prod. Fundacja AnimaArt
2014, 8:00
Psycho-gymnastics, psycho-drama. A narrated animation in the
form of a journal produced as a combination of drawings and
graphics. An attempt to find visual equivalents for decomposition
and mental deconstruction of personality/person as well as to
show desperate efforts aiming at its reconstructing, merging. It’s
a peculiar game of graphic representations of mental states which
accompany daily struggle with reality, including questions such as:
“who am I?, “what do I consist of?”. |

(6) THE THREE KINGS
dir. Anna Błaszczyk
prod. WJTeam / Anna Błaszczyk
2014, 8:00
When entertaining one’s loyal servants, keeping ideal garden or
the easiest mathematical calculations are too much even for three
royal heads, the mysterious light of the Star seems to be salvation
from routine. The three kings: naive Caspar, shy Melchior and ner-
vous Balthazar set out on a journey lead by light of the Star. During
their journey, much like obstacle course, they have to learn they
are happy only when they use their skills and share them with their
friends. Inspiration, and at the same time a unique element of the
film, is an original 19th century pastoral. The film, though based on
a biblical parable, is still far from pathos- it is mainly a vivid tale of
adventures of the title three friends. |
