(1) ŻÓŁW / TURTLE
Directed by : Adela Kaczmarek
Produced by : Adela Karczmarek Warszawa
2012 / 2:00 / Poland

(2) SNĘPOWINA / SLEEPINCORD
Directed by : Marta Pajek
Produced by : Se-ma-for Fundacja Filmowa Łódź
2011 / 14:00 / Poland

An ambiguous story, which should be watched more than once, where the protagonist is a dream. Marta Pajek’s film, drawn with a characteristic line and going on in three types of space: abstract, dreamlike and realistic, beguiles and continually spurs the viewer to look for answers to the questions about mutual relations between the worlds presented. The allusion to the umbilical cord in the title suggests that the dream is the only way to connect us with the reality inaccessible to our eyes.

(3) PAPIEROWE PUDEŁKO / PAPERBOX
Directed by : Zbigniew Czapla
Produced by : Zbigniew Czapla Kraków
2011 / 9:00 / Poland

In May 2010, after record rainfall, flash flood broke embankments of the Vistula near Wilkow. Catastrophic flooding deprived thousands of people of all their possessions as well as the roof over their heads. A few weeks later in my family house ravaged by the element, I found a box of old photographs. The only left family memento es were destroyed by water, mud and mold. This film is a desperate attempt to keep memories, reconstruct people and events of the past. An impression on the transitory nature of memory, inevitability of fading and the destructive force of elements.

(4) SŁOŃCE W PEŁNI / THE FULL SUN
Directed by : Adela Kaczmarek /
Produced by : Serafiński Studio sp. z o.o. Warszawa,
2012 / 8:17 / Poland

The sunlight permeating through the window wakes up the protagonist who begins a colourful and impressionistic journey around the world. The woman tries to catch up with the sun, travelling over the seashores, succumbing to the rhythms of waves and light. This picturesque, ecumenical story pulsates with colours, hums with water and shines with positive energy. It is a film on the harmony of the world where everyday dance of the sun unites different religions, people of faraway continents and their attitudes.

(5) UNDERLIFE
Directed by : Jarosław Konopka
Produced by : Studio Munka, Se-ma-for Fundacja Filmowa Łódź
2010 / 8:32 / Poland

An intertextual journey through the areas of memory, flashback and imagination, not entirely conscious sensations that are often evoked by experiencing reality. It is a story depicting very subjective and personal emotions, showing the world woven with cultural themes parallel to dreaming which constantly overlaps the reality in a dangerous manner. A symbolically metaphorical short story of one such pram, inspired by “Lullaby” Krzysztof Komeda, among others.

(6) DISTANCE
Directed by : Marcin Wojciechowski
Produced by : FP Studio Munka, Fundacja Anima-Art Warszawa
2012 / 8:25 / Poland

Distance: the length of space between two points; remoteness, detachment. In a work devoid of anecdote and dramaturgical twists and turns, the filmmaker experiments with the borderlands between film and moving graphics. Two people and the space that lies between them. Incessantly repeated attempts at dialogue, captured in a game of typographical symbols. The repeated gestures, words and signals create a singular mantra of meanings, endeavours to name and demarcate the personal boundaries of mental independence from a coexistence which is often a complicating factor.

(7) NIEBIESCY ARTYŚCI TWORZĄ SZTUKĘ
/ BLUE ARTISTS CREATE ART
Directed by : Wiola Sowa
Produced by : Zachęta Narodowa Galeria Sztuki
2012 / 5:00 / Poland

The film was created as a part of the 'Share art' project, organized by the 'Zachęta' National Art Gallery and was inspired by works of contemporary polish artists. In a humorous way, it shows what can inspire artists, as well as the roles of coincidence and unrestrained imagination in the process.

(8) ALICJA TU I TAM / ALICE HERE AND THERE
Directed by : Alicja Jodko
Produced by : Alicja Jodko Wrocław
1984-2012 / 5:40 / Poland

Blinking of mirror in a stream of associations, glittering of real-time in unreal, flickering of life in literature, blinking of literature in life, flickering of celluloid in digital images.

(9) MEINE HEIMAT / MY HOME
Directed by : Robert Sowa
Produced by : Sowa Film
2012 / 4:30 / Poland

Memories become for a short moment through abstract images. Realistic pictures are mixed with unreal. Expressive music created by modern composer Ewa Trębacz intensifies the character of film expression. Based on poem by Ulrike Almut Sandig “Meine Haimat”, film shows metaphorical feeling of land, landscapes and home.
