Seiichi HAYASHI
PROFILE

Born in north-eastern China (formerly Manchuria) in 1945. After his involvement in the production of "Ken, The Wild Boy" (Toei Animation), made in the dawn of Japanese television animation, went on to make his debut as a manga artist with "Aguma and the Spirit who could not eat his son". His 1970 work "Red Colored Elegy" influenced many people and has become a monumental landmark in youth manga. In 1976 he won the Bronze Prize at the Venice International Advertising Film Festival for the Lotte television commercial "Koume-chan". He is involved in a wide variety of activities, including television commercials, animation for NHK's 'Songs for Everyone', picture books and more. In particular, he is known as 'the Yumeji Takehisa of the modern age' in the world of feminine beauty. He was an International Selection Committee member at the 3rd Hiroshima International Animation Festival.
